Imperial Cafe and Alk Hussein: A Local Cafe Reaches 120,000 Views
A pilot-stage Let's Connex collaboration: a Richmond Hill café went from 2-3K typical organic views to 120,000+ through one influencer.
- typical organic views per post
- 2-3K
- views on the creator's video
- 120K+
- audience reach expansion

A pilot-stage collaboration from Let's Connex's early experiments, and the one that shaped how we think about fit.
The situation
Imperial Café & Lounge is a Persian-style café and restaurant on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill: handcrafted coffee, an extensive breakfast and brunch menu, and a lounge atmosphere that has made it a local fixture. Like many strong local businesses, its own social reach had a ceiling: posts typically earned two to three thousand organic views, almost entirely from its existing community.
The café wanted what most local businesses want from influencer marketing: new audiences beyond the customers who already knew it.
The collaboration
The café partnered with Alk Hussein, known online as Father Alk: a Canadian comedy creator with over 900,000 TikTok followers and one of the country's most recognizable food and family voices. The thinking was simple: a creator with massive reach and genuine influence over what his audience eats, pointed at a café worth discovering.
His video introduced Imperial Café to an audience it had never reached.
The result
The video passed 120,000 views: a forty to sixty fold expansion on the café's typical organic reach, and reach far beyond anything the café's own channels could deliver. This collaboration ran in our pilot stage, before the platform's tracking and settlement existed, so views are the number we can stand behind; what we learned mattered more than what we measured.
What it taught us
Fit multiplies outcomes. The result was strong, and it convinced us the ceiling is higher still when a creator's audience and content style align tightly with the audience a business wants to reach. That lesson is now built into the platform: FitCheck scores how well an applicant matches an Experience, with content and audience alignment among its largest inputs, on request before a business accepts anyone.
Content style is part of fit. We now believe a collaboration performs best when the content a creator makes for a business sits naturally inside the content their audience already loves. Style alignment is part of how we think about matching, not an afterthought.
Your own presence receives the traffic. An influencer's video sends a wave of curious people to a business's page, and what they find there decides what happens next. At the time, the café's own channels were not positioned to receive and convert that wave of new attention: a lesson we now share with the businesses we work with. Before the collaboration launches, make sure the page the audience lands on represents the business at its best.
Where this went
This collaboration is part of why Let's Connex works the way it does: FitCheck scoring on request before anyone is accepted, each Experience's terms stated before creators apply, and views tracked and reviewed before they settle. For the full method, read the restaurant playbook or the complete local guide. If you run a local business, start your first Experience. If you create content, see what your audience is worth.
